Benefit Gimme Brow Review & Giveaway!

There are some people out there in the world who have been blessed with beautifully full, perfectly arched eyebrows.

I am not one of those people.

Fortunately for me, I can fake amazing brows with the right product. There are a lot of options out there - from pencils, to powders, to gels - and each has their own unique pros and cons. Ultimately my ideal brow product will do three things: define the shape, hold them in place, and still manage look natural. Pencils and powders can be great for adding definition, but they aren't always so great for keeping unruly hairs in place. A clear brow gel will keep everything looking neat, but won't do much to fill in sparse areas. Usually this means I have to resort to using at least two different products to take my brows from lackluster to luscious.

And then I discovered Benefit's Gimme Brow.

Birchbox has a special list serve for it's blogger community (lovingly referred to as their Birchbloggers) and will frequently notify us special contests and giveaways we can enter. A few weeks back there was a giveaway where 10 Birchbloggers were chosen to receive Benefit's new Gimme Brow to try out and review. Somehow I miraculously made the list, and last week this beautiful little package arrived in my mailbox!

Gimme Brow is a unique brow gel that adheres to hairs and skin, creating the illusion of fullness. You can use the thin edge of the tapered applicator to draw through the brow and create definition, and then comb through to blend and build your coverage. There are two colors available (light/medium and medium/deep) so that brunettes and blondes alike can have beautiful brows.

All week I've been using Gimme Brow in lieu of my usual brow enhancing products, and I've really been loving it! It's very easy to use, and looks super natural. I think the best way to do this little miracle justice, though, is to show you it in action.

Here are my sad, naked brows. As you can see they get kind of sparse and undefined at the ends.

And here are my brows after giving them some Bene-love (I used the shade medium/deep)!

Although the difference is subtle, you can see that the ends of my eyebrows have appeared where before they were barely visible. The first time I used Gimme Brow the application was so soft and natural that I didn't think there was much of a difference until I pulled back from the mirror and really looked at myself. Perhaps I'm used to heavier products that make my brows looked doctored, but at first glance Gimme Brow made me feel like I wasn't even wearing any product at all. And I guess that's the magic of this Benefit wonder.

The brush is very tiny and easy to maneuver, making it pretty foolproof to shape and define even thin areas. The formula is not remotely crunchy or stiff like some brow gels can be, and yet it's got a strong enough hold to keep them in place all day.  You can also easily build the amount of coverage you need, while still maintaining a natural look.

In the end I am really happy to have added this product to my beauty arsenal, and am SO thankful to Birchbox and Benefit Cosmetics for gifting it to me! I've been wearing it pretty much every single day since I got it, and I'm loving it more and more.

But, the generosity doesn't stop there! Birchbox has decided to gift us Birchbloggers ANOTHER Gimme Brow to give away to our readers!! 1. I love your posts! I think this product would be great for those times I get a little too tweeze happy on my brows and leave them either uneven or weirdly plucked :(

  5. All of the pictures of me during my high school years show how much I have tortured my eyebrows. I envy girls with full brows now! I wore bangs for years because I never like the way way brows looked even when I let them grow back and I never felt very skilled with a brow pencil. The brush on the Gimmie Brow looks might be easier for me to work with. I used Benefit's rose tint for years and always enjoyed their products. I'd love to give this a try.
