It can be a touchy subject.
For those happily involved in relationships it may be something you’re eagerly anticipating as a time to celebrate each other. But for the lonely-hearted, the recently single, the long distance lovers, or anyone without someone to snuggle with that night, the thought of said holiday might be hitting a sore spot. I’ve been there, and I know how much it sucks. And while it’s tempting to mope around or wear black or post depressing statuses on Facebook, you deserve better than that. Valentine’s Day should be a celebration of love, and not just towards a significant other. One of the people you should first and foremost be loving and taking care of is yourself, so I say, regardless of your relationship status, make some time next Saturday to show yourself some love and appreciation!
Here’s my guide for an hour of rose inspired, ultra pampering me-time. Whatever you do in your day to day life, I’m sure you work hard and you’ve earned it! I personally am a fan of the sweet and floral scent of roses, but you can easily take these product ideas and trade in something suits your nose better.
My all-time favorite way to relax is to pop in the bath with a good book or some soothing tunes. This lovely perfumed bath oil from Maison Caulieres will leave your skin feeling oh-so-silky-soft and delicately fragranced, and is truly a luxurious treat for bath enthusiasts. Looking for something a little friendlier to the wallet? The LUSH Rose Jam Bubbleroon will produce mounds of beautiful rose scented bubbles for your tub, and is made to be split in half for double the bath time goodness.
Set the Mood
Nothing adds ambiance quite like a candle. These little travel tins from Votivo are perfect to set up on the edge of the tub to add that little extra something while you soak. They burn for quite a long time and give off lots of fragrance.
Sip & Savor
It’s always good to rehydrate yourself after a long soak in the tub, and this POM Antioxidant Super Tea is a delicious way to do so. The Pomegranate Honey Green Tea flavor has a subtle hint of rose that is so unique and tasty you just have to try it to understand.
Nothing feels quite as lovely as a cool mist of a refreshing facial spray after you’ve gotten out of the tub. Mario Badescu’s Facial Spray with Aloe Herbs and Rosewater is so soothing and hydrating, and also smells amazing.
While your skin is feeling extra-soft after your bath, lock in that moisture with a rich body cream. This Atlas Mountain Rose Body Cream from the Body Shop will have even your roughest bits feeling silky smooth in no time. Your lips may want some love too! This Tokyomilk Rose Water Bon Bon Lip Balm is not only adorable, but has a sweet and delicate sugared rose scent that’s hard to not fall in love with.
Fellow rose lover or not, I hope you make some time for you next week! If a spa type treatment isn’t up your alley, I’d love to hear about your favorite ways to relax, unwind, or treat yourself. Tell me all about your favorite pampering rituals in the comments down below.
